I once loved all that you had to offer. The artistic beauty with the movement of your rythmic notation and your inspiring words of sexual embrace and life's worthiness. You
taught me things that my parents could not like how to love, be in a constructive reslationship, how to worship, how to love myself, and that have obstacles. You gave street love a new look with youngsters telling the world their life stories with gangbanging, living in poverty, hood life, new skills in the game came present with artists like Warren G, Tupac, Notorious BIG, Dj Quik, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Nutty by Nature.


Yet over the years music you have changed. The things that were fly, artistic, inspiring, loving, and romantic has become sex orientated, degrading, and irresponsible.. Songs like lets get Jerking, Geeked Up, Pop Lock and Drop It, Pussy Poppin on a Hand Stand, Look Back At It. Artists like Trina and Lil' Kim are telling the world how bad they pussy is and how far down a dick can go down their throats. You have artists like Game degrading women and putting them as whores and easy. Or 50cent with a theme park of sexual activites and how a girl can benefit him.

Women are now not unworthy music especially Black women who either do whatever they are told like bend over girl show me wat u working with or being called whores because they are using sex to get in a man's music industry by wearing damn near nothing on music videos, degrading themselves and their families like vidoe vicines Michelle Ford and Super Head or letting men run them over for the sake of being ran over.


What happened music. Things used to be great when you had meaning and I don't mean the beats and instrumental enhancements of modern technology of computer usage such as T-Pain but the misleading music by the young and the old like Soldier Boy with him singing songs of ejaculation on a female's back and when the speciment is drying you place a sheet on her back and push her off of the bed and let her fly like superman. Like is this seriously music?

Do I honestly want my children listening to this nonsense and call it music? Music is artistic words and creative music coming together for popular view. Yes, economically that song or many of the songs stated are well with high volumes of ring tone sales and single downloads or album sales; but is it music?

Does it having meaning? Does it show character, optimism? Does it show creativity? Does it embrace life's goods and bads that young people cannot learn from their parents?

Or has music become an industry of money and no longer about good music? In which popularity of whatever nonsense can be expressed is beneficial to the public's view?

Damn music I once loved you but now I'm a little scared but there are people who are still trying to hold on to the true music like Musiq Soulchild, Beyonce, Common, Lupe Fisasco, LL Cool J, Mary J. This group is founded upon the principals of the Talented 10th by W.E.B. Dubious. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this concept, the talented 10th was written by W.E.B. Du Bois in September of 1903 and was published as the second chapter of a collection of articles by african americans entitled " The Negro Problem". The term talented 10th was created by W.E.B. Du Bois during the Harlem renaissance to describe the phenomenon of every one in ten black people becoming influential in the world, through methods such as continuing their education, writing books, or becoming directly involved in social change. In a nutshell the top 10 percent of all African Americans are responsible for uplifting and developing our entire people.

This is a group designed for EVERY BLACK MALE that attends an institute for higher learning in the state of California.

Men, WE ARE THE TALENTED 10th. It us up to us to uplift our communities, ourselves, our women, and our children. The Upside Down World: Decivilization

A different Way to Look at Things:

The West, under the guise of missionary and trading campaigns, enforced for generations their
claim to the "sovereign right" of civility. This belief has been enforced through imperialism, colonialism (both different forms of slavery) and outright slavery. The West is civilized and the rest of the world is not. The west is right and the rest of the world is wrong. In particular, this notion has been prominent in the areas that were once British controlled. The British empire was so large that commentators stated that the "sun never sets" on British land. They had land in all time zones. Nevertheless, it's interesting that these colonizers who trace their origin to barbaric beginnings in the Mountains of Europe, were once considered by the Roman empire "too dumb to enslave" and to colonize.

Nevertheless, there is a prominent distinction and title claimed by the West: This is the title of "First World" countries. First world countries: capitalistic, and technologically advanced. Other "less developed" countries are given the derogatory title of "third world". These countries are not good enough to be in the first world and it is implied that they are inferior and are not advanced because they are not "modern". In other words they aren't civilized, or as fully civilized as the "First world" countries. Now one must consider the meaning of civility since it is so often used to praise a society or degrade it.

According to Merrian Webster's Dictionary (m-w.com) civilized is: "1 a: a relatively high level of cultural and technological development."
A lot of cultures of the world have a relatively high level development of arts, beliefs, religion, sciences, and practices. Civility is therefore left to the second half of the definition, which is the basis of technological development. The utter most objective for technological progress is enrich human life and the environment that humans live in. Technology, through the development in Sciences, should help human beings. According to this definition of civility, one cannot help but wonder "how truly civilized do we claim to be".

In our process to be truly civilized and advanced in technology, we have been left with a dying Earth. We have caused Global Warming and Climate Change. Our innovation in weapons has caused the deaths of hundreds of millions (Nuclear Warfare). Our superior knowledge in chemical and biological sciences has led to biological and chemical warfare. Capitalism has corrupted mankind's ambitions so that even in the U.S. only 5% of the population control most of the wealth. Capitalism has corrupted ethics and morals and as a result Needy nations are left ignored to fend for themselves because they have no capital worth that's good enough to be invested in. Regions without capital leverage such as oil, gold or minerals are left without capital leverage. Un-healthy hormones are injected into livestock and vegetation in order to be grown at abnormal and unhealthy speeds in order sell a quick buck and make outstanding profits. Consumer products such as electronics and cars are made inferior so that they may always be replaced. Capitalism is the only entity in history to encourage people to buy and trade with money (bargain and barter) that they do not actually have. Wars are now waged solely for capital interests. Large companies and corporations receive tax cuts in reward for their financial support to legislators. Our financial greed has corrupted us and today stock markets world wide are reaping the consequences. The advance of Media and Television has enabled peoples and groups to spread their beliefs and agendas for society. It is interesting that our culture, Western culture is the only culture to support and glorify disrespect to authority, decline of moral right/wrong, use of violence, and family values (mainly through Music and Media). Today in the U.S. the average divorce rate is 50%. The average worker works more hours than any other avg worker in the world and family time as a result is not so easily afforded by the middle and lower classes.

Catch 22?

Maybe global warming and the melting of glaciers is a good trade-off. Maybe the unnatural dependence on medicine (due to unhealthy diets and lifestyles) is a good trade off. Maybe the constant worry of making money, protecting it, and spending it (capitalism) is a good trade-off. Maybe I am wrong! But if the true definition of civility is to advance human life and preserve the most favorable living conditions (society-wise, political-wise, including healthy global temperatures, etc.,) we are living in a backward society, uncivilized and steadily heading to destruction. Our civilization (Western civilization) very well may be the very first civilization to make "progresses" , unconsciously or not, that supports the deterioration of human life, social standards as well as living standards. Making us truly uncivilized.
A society that is truly upside down.

The same homegirl that nine times out of ten
you say degrading phrases about to the next person,
making them “promise” not to go back repeating your words.
& if you don’t make them “promise”
then almost positively
when you are confronted about it, you deny it.
All the while, preaching to the ones doing the same to you
“If you have somethin’ to say, say it to my face!”
Making that bold front you put on, convert to italicized
because now you are leaning towards hypocrisy.

Put your head on straight,
because if you keep carrying your nose too high,
it is going to make it difficult to follow your path.
There is a difference between conceit and humble confidence.
One is unflattering, while the other earns appreciation.
Instead of being self-praising by putting yourself on a pedestal,
put the pedestal in the hands of others,
and see who then places you on top.
Earn your respect through acting in a fashion that
silently demands it.

The Financial Crisis and How It Affects Us

Since early August, the United States has seen its economy crumble into a near recession. As the effects of the financial crisis grow, taxpayers around the world are searching their pockets for money to clean up this mess. So, exactly what caused this mess?

Well, basically, due to numerous mortgage failures, banks and other financial institutions are afraid of making loans during this time period. “When home prices were soaring in recent years, just about any person or business could get a loan; if they had bad credit, they just paid a higher interest rate. More and more loans to more and more people helped send home values to unsustainable highs. This is known as a bubble, which is financially painful when it pops” (Washington Post). Unfortunately that bubble popped when the housing market collapsed. Due to the housing market failure, the banks are now sustaining from giving out loans to anybody ranging from homeowners to college students like you and me.

This has a spiraling effect because less and less people are buying homes, cars, and etc due to lack of money; therefore companies are laying off workers in order to save money for their business. Then those workers who are laid off have less money to spend, affecting other businesses and the problem keeps getting worse. “If there are few loans and little spending, the country could fall into a deep recession – if it's not already in one” (Washington Post).

So how does this affect us? Of course this dilemma influences the amount of loans us college students receive. Even though it’s bad enough already, the checks will be getting smaller. However, if you are a college student in need of money, there are other ways that you can receive that. Well of course scholarships would be the number one way to gain access to free money.
